Summer is gone. It was too short. Ended too soon. I know I'm not the first with this thought, but the older I get, the more I do not like winter. It's a necessary evil, but it lasts too long and seems it just doesn't end.

I've always enjoyed the summer, but until recently, I've not had a dislike for winter. Where I lived years ago, winter had a much bigger impact - snow that lasted for weeks or even months. Frozen lakes. But I moved - for other reasons - and still, there's too much winter.

My better half will not move, but I would in a minute. There is no perfect climate that also has an agreeable government, but still, I think I could find a happy medium.

At least for now, we can open the doors and windows and enjoy the fresh air as it billows through the curtains and enjoy the transition to cooler weather. Still, I'm making plans for next summer already.
