Birch The Sly

Last Saturday was extremely hot. I think it was up in the mid to high 90's. The dew point apparently was also pretty high, so the 'feels like' temperature was supposed to be around 105-110. It was hot, but I didn't think it was bad as they made it out to be. Never the less, I decided it would be a great day to ride the bike. The Mrs. had to work, so as long as I got back in time for dinner I should be good.

I wasn't sure how far or long I would ride, but I really was enjoying it. I believe I just went about 3 hours. I stopped in a small town to get an iced tea, gas and rest up for 5 minutes and then high the road again. It was a great time of reflection and recharging my battery.

On Sunday, the Mrs. and I went to church, had brunch and then left for a local car race. I had purchased pretty good seats and even a parking pass. Most of the parking in the area is pay only now. There is an area that is still free, but we would have to leave home early to be sure we got a spot. As it is, we didn't leave home until about 1:15 and had enough time to walk the area, buy some bottled water and find our seats with 30 minutes to spare.

The race itself was extremely boring. We left with about 30 minutes remaining and ate dinner at Panera Bread. We were able to arrive home before too late and chill out for a while before prepping for work Monday. All-in-all a very entertaining and relaxing weekend.
