A couple of weekends past, my throat quickly become very sore to the point that if I coughed, I thought it was going to rupture. I went to work the next day, but probably shouldn't have. The symptoms really came on me quickly and by that evening I knew I wasn't going to be able to work the next day.

I laid around and tried to get an abundance of rest and fluids. The coughing, sore throat and headache just made everything exponentially worse.

I was able to work from home the following day and then on the third day went to work although I was still dragging. Suprisingly, this didn't improve by much in 2 weeks time.

I don't get sick often and it rarely lasts more than about 5 days, but this time seemed to have a significant impact. The surpising sympton was a lack of energy.

It had been over 2 weeks since my last gym day and I was missing it even though I felt like it wouldn't do much good. Well, tonight I went, vowing to not over exert and to think 'big picture'. It actually went better than I thought it would. I could obviously tell a drop in strength, but most everything else was still there. I even hit the sauna for 20 minutes without any issue. I did not, however, pull the sled, although I'm thinking I might give it a shot tomorrow.

I'm glad to be back though, and I don't seem to be worse for the wear. Time to get back into the grind.
